Meet The Team: Zach Shelton
"I've been having a ball since I was a boy in Beaumont", Okay so those may not be the exact words Zach used to describe his childhood growing up in the small town of Beaumont, Texas, but pretty much, and we couldn't resist the nod to Mark Chesnutts' Blame It On Texas. Zach Shelton has been with the team for almost two years now, and the long list of his responsibilities might best be summed up as our Inside Sales Support. He's one of the first persons' our clients come in contact with and he is everyone's go to person for managing client profiles and contracts. If you stop by our 1010 office off of Center Street, you may find Zach ping-ponging from one request to another. We'll let some of our other team members comment on his great qualities.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
" I can remember being about 5-6 years old, and joining my uncle who was the head coach of a high school baseball team in Erath, Louisiana. I would help out with the team during the summer time, and I'm pretty sure that's where my love of baseball began. My grandpa taught me to be an LSU fan, I had some good times going to Louisiana as a kid. Growing up in Beaumont, I would play baseball and spend time outside. I still enjoy going to the Astros games with my father and grandpa. Years later I would meet my wife at a concert in Beaumont, one of my buddies was in the band. It turns out that she lived only 15 minutes away. We both went to Sam Houston together. We've been married for two and a half years, and now we're expecting of first baby early next year. She's my best friend, and the best person I know. I know she's going to be a great mom."
What do you appreciate about F.I.R.S.T.?
"I've become close friends with several of the people who work here. I can't say anything bad about anyone, except maybe Brad... The company is flexible. Which I appreciate because I've been able to go to some of the key doctor appointments during my wife's pregnancy."
