Meet The Team: Roy Creager

It is fitting that during the month of F.I.R.S.T. LLC's 10 Year anniversary, we feature one of our Owner's and President Roy Creager. 2018 has been a year of reflection. A lot of change has taken place, even outside the normal scope of a growing company. But with the help of fearless leaders like Roy Creager, we worked through growing pains, grief, and even celebrated joys.

In 2018 F.I.R.S.T. established a monthly meeting with staff, here employee's are able to hear Roy's thoughts on the company's growth, and also his reminiscing of where F.I.R.S.T. came from. Roy enables his team to grow, to dream and improve. He observes, ask's questions and consider's whether or not this "new idea" is in the best interest of the company. In addition to letting his team "do their thing" he has always ensured that the family environment that so many employee's talk about, is maintained.

F.I.R.S.T. is growing, but it hasn't gotten so big that people feel lost in the shuffle. Whether a person is working on rescue teams, part of our training divisions, our safety branch, and definitely administration, we are made to feel "at home" as corn-ball as that may sound, it's the truth and has been echoed by too many employee's for it to be coincidence.

Roy Creager, is not the only element to the "family environment" felt at F.I.R.S.T., but without his approval and nurturing of this atmosphere, it would not exist. His stance on this is no surprise, because Roy is a family man. If you spend any length of time with him, you realize not only is he a great business man, but more importantly, he is a family man. Many people would tell you so. He unashamedly gushes about his children, his new grandson, and he beams with pride over his wife's accomplishments. That is something that is truly respectable. He want's the same for his company, he pushes everyone to do their best, he commends his team, and gives credit where it's due. Even in the midst of the stresses of owning a business, he likes peace within his organization.

Roy Creager, on behalf of Team F.I.R.S.T, we want to say, thank you for having the gumption, nerve, tenacity, whatever you want to call it, to start and grow First in Rescue Safety and Training, more importantly thank you for being a respectable owner.

What makes F.I.R.ST. a great company?: " Without a doubt the employee's!! We have the kind of players that make championship teams.

Outside of work what is important to you?: "My wife Celeste, my family and my health. [Also] fishing, golf, and hunting, they aren't as important but it keeps me outdoors, which is important.

"I met Roy many years ago when he held a different job description!! I was not at all surprised that he decided to start his own company. His professionalism and his ability to keep striving for bigger and better accomplishments inevitably resulted in F.I.R.S.T., LLC.! " -Sylvia Castillo

" Being an entrepreneur, a family man, a generous and caring person, is not an easy balance to strike. Many people wouldn't even try. Roy is about as successful as they come in not losing compassion for people, and making his family a priority, all while still growing a company. I respect this about him." -Amanda Hernandez

"I really respect Roy and what he has built here at First. Hearing stories of how him and Logan started out, I know he is not afraid of hard work. After interviewing with Roy, I knew that First was the right fit for me. We are very blessed to work for such a wonderful company and all know that without a strong and knowledgeable leader First would not be First." - Lisa Groover

"Roy is a great boss & business owner. He truly values the opinions of his employees and strives to run a very organized and successful business! I love the hometown feel you get when working for FIRST with the perks of working for a big business. We are continually expanding & growing and have Roy to think for that. It starts with him at the top. " - Kalynn Hanna

"Roy Creager is one of a kind and by that I mean he is the only one in his whole family that doesn’t sing in public. Roy and Celeste have raised two very smart (their Aggies ???) and respectful children which in this day and time says a lot. He is a very good business man, salesman, and he has a heart of gold when it comes to helping people in need. I don’t always agree with all his decisions but we always seem to discuss our disagreements and come to equitable agreement. I consider Roy to be my friend and I’m proud to be his business partner in FIRST LLC which has grown into one great company that every employee should be very proud in helping us build." - Logan Reininger
