Meet the Team: Logan Reininger

Updated: May 21, 2018

He's the heartbeat of F.I.R.S.T.
"As a person, I have never worked with anybody that's loved and respected as he is."
"He's a pain but I love him with all of my heart."
"There's so much to say, I've known him all of my life, he's a mentor to me."

These opening statements reflect only a fraction of what people feel for today's featured team member and part owner, Logan Reininger. He is our Senior Vice President of Operations and has been a part of the company since day one. Roy Creager recently remarked that Logan stuck with him through thick and thin, especially when F.I.R.S.T. was in its early stages.

Logan has made it his habit to be one of the very first person's to arrive at work, he is also usually one of the last to leave. Even when he's at home he continues to work from there. Many of our employee's have commented on how they would receive phone calls from Logan, making sure that while they were traveling, they were taken care of and safe. He is the worlds greatest e-bay shoppers, people from all over call him to see if he can find whatever particular item that has alluded them. Because of his industrious skills, he is able to get F.I.R.S.T. employee's some of the best rescue equipment.

He's retired from HFD and from working as a Harris County Constable. As a result he has made many friends along the way. Almost every week there is a reunion of some sort. Someone is always stopping by 1013 Center St. to pay Logan a visit. While they're waiting to talk to him, as he maybe on one of the many endless streams of phone calls he takes throughout the day, they talk about their friend. Many have remarked on the love and respect they have for him, they'll tell me "you know I've known him for 20+ years...", "I respect that man," , "he's special, there's nobody like Logan".

We could go on and on, about how loved and respected Logan Reininger is, and we haven't even begun to talk about his skill level. The knowledge he has in rescue, in the industry, in purchasing, in technology, in customer service, the list goes on. He is a natural born leader, and as you'll see many people are happy and honored to follow his direction.

Logan Reininger, F.I.R.S.T. and all of its employee's would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all you've done for F.I.R.S.T. as a company, and for each of us as an individual. You have set a fine example for all of us!

Interview

What do you appreciate about F.I.R.S.T.?: "The family atmosphere and all the loyal employees that I consider to be, not only employees but friends. They work long hard hours which helps create a great company."

Outside of work what is important to you?: "My family, my friends, and of course Bass Fishing."

Any other thoughts you want to share?: "I would like to thank every employee at FIRST not only for being there for me but for all the long hours they spend away from their families earning a living to support their family. It's their hard work and sacrifice that makes FIRST such a a great company because without these hard working employees FIRST wouldn't exist. Thank you all!"

From the Team

"I worked most of my HFD rescue career with Logan, it goes without saying that Logan is pretty darn sharp on all things fire and rescue. When I would come up with an idea for the Rescue Team Logan would tell me 'Captain you're screwed up and let me tell you why...' most of the time he was right. It was quite the joke for several years at my expense. Logan has been a mentor and a friend to me for many years and I'm proud to work for him at F.I.R.S.T." -Keith Bobbitt

"He's a pain, but I love him with all my heart. Anything he ever needed I'd be there for him. If he called 4am and told me to be in New York, I'd jump on a plane. I worked with Logan on the rescue truck for HFD. He cared about his men more than any captain. He turned down promotions to stay with his men. He took up for his team. He cared about his team first, Logan was second. I love him with all my heart." - Robert Yarbrough

"There's a lot to say, I've known him my whole life. He's a mentor to me, he's taught me a lot. He's a straight shooter, he tells you like it is. But he's extremely fair and generous." - Frank Ratka

"I've known Logan for a long long time. He's a great guy, he's funny too! As an employee I feel like I can talk to him freely, he's got an open door." -Darian Lariviere

"In the rescue community, he is known as the gentle giant. I hold him in the highest regard as a manager and as a friend. He gets his employee's the best. He's kind hearted, he's an open minded person. Sometimes with the level of experience that someone like Logan has, it becomes their way or the highway. Logan will hear you out." -Weldon Glidden

"As a person, I have never worked with anybody that's loved and respected as he is. He has done a lot for F.I.R.S.T." - Eric Meyer

"Nobody can spin a story like Logan does. He's like everyone's grandpa here. He's told me before that its important to treat others the way you want to be treated. Many people say those words but, I believe he is someone who truly tried to live by those words. It's a privilege to work with such wonderful people at F.I.R.S.T. and Logan is definitely one of those people that makes going to work a joy... most of the time" - Amanda Hernandez

" My round little friend, he's a mentor to us all. His work ethic is unmatched. And his knowledge goes across the board. He's an owner but he's for the employee's as well."-Brad Hawthorne

"Logan man, Logan Logan, what can't you say about Logan? He's like another dad to me. I look up to him. He makes the job fun. He's the go to man for many people, even outside of FIRST. Everywhere we go people know him. He makes it happen, he you're go to man." -Alex Romero

"He's helpful to those in need, he's selfless." - Hayden Finley

"He's kind hearted, he spent time with me in the hospital when he didn't have to. Not only did he come once but he visited me three times and stayed for a while." -Daniel Moraida

"He's the scariest boat driver. Great fisherman, bad boat driver." -Brendan Corr

"Logan is one of a kind. He wants everyone to succeed in life. He gives everyone a chance to improve and advance..." -Joshua Hazel
