Meet the Team: Jacob Gomez

We started our "Meet the team" series several months ago, and from the very beginning, today's featured employee, has supported the concept of commending other's for their good work ethics and qualities. He's usually one of the first to comment on his own positive observations about his team-mates. We expressed appreciation to him for that and he said "I'm all for anything that brings a positive environment. "

Jacob Gomez has been with F.I.R.S.T. for around 5 years now. He works as a Rescue Tech, a Rescue Supervisor and even support our training department. Jacob is also employed at the Houston Fire Department. He said "I wanted to make a difference in the community and being a public servant fulfills that." Outside of working with at the Fire Station or being part of a rescue team, he's always shown appreciation for his family. Many months ago before his firstborn arrived, I remember Jacob coming through the office and giving us updates on his son, and when the baby would be due. You could tell he was totally excited about being a dad. And now that his son is here, we still see the same joy and excitement he had then, he loves his family.

Jacob Gomez is the type of person that if his name comes up in conversation, everyone has nothing but good things to say about him. Jacob, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting your team, and for setting a great example.

Interview

What do you appreciate about F.I.R.S.T.?: " ...awesome atmosphere, there's a family vibe. And there are hard workers here. When people have been down and out this company has done fundraisers to support them, that's a big thing. I also appreciate that they work with my fire schedule, not everyone would be willing to do that."

Outside of work, what is most important to you?: "Most important thing to me is my family, my wife and my little boy. We go to baseball games, the Astros games, and church. Just spending time with my family. My work schedule isn't always easy so I enjoy every opportunity I get to spend with them."
