When you hear the phrase "Good People", we know this to mean that the person being discussed is just that, a great person. Benny Price, is what you would call "Good People". A few weeks ago, he was teaching an in house Hazmat class, and we were able to enjoy his company at our training center. We found out that his house had received water damage from Hurricane Harvey, but even then he was still positive, commenting on how "it could have been worse". It was nice having him around the office that week.
I was able to talk to people who have known him for 30 years plus, and they all echoed the same thought Benny Price, is not only "good people" but he is very knowledgeable. We are privileged to have someone of his caliber teaching here at F.I.R.S.T. as one of our HAZMAT instructors.
The other vein of thought that people commented on was his great sense of humor. When Benny Price was here he told me that his wife observed him with their grand-kids and jokingly said it was hard to tell who the kids were in the bunch, he said he responded "it should be that way". I agree with you Mr. Price, my own grandpa was a comedian, and I think those kind of grandfathers are the best kind!
I know here at F.I.R.S.T. we appreciate you for who you are as a person and for who you are as a work mate. By extension I know many whom you've taught over the years hold you in high regard. Thank you Mr. Price for being a part of Team F.I.R.S.T.!
What do you appreciate about F.I.R.S.T.?: "F.I.R.S.T. treats every client as if they are their only client. They send out the best!"
Outside of work what is most important to you?: "Grandchildren and family. I have two grand-kids, we camp out, they spend the night, the reality is we do pretty much what they want to do!"
From the Team
"That Copper Headed Rattle Moccasin, he's older than dirt, he taught me in fire school 28 years ago. He has a wealth of knowledge and is an all around good person. The only person I know at F.I.R.S.T. who's a bigger clown than I am."

I met Ben in 1988 when I was assigned to the Houston HazMat Team. Ben is funny as hell, but don't let his humorous nature fool you. He is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable people on the planet when it comes to hazardous materials response. In the HFD, he rose through the ranks to Senior Captain and served as the Asst. Coordinator for the HMRT. He served for more than 15 years as a HazMat/WMD Manager for Texas Task Force 1 and served on the NFPA Technical Committee on HazMat/WMD Response. He has served as a Master Instructor for the International Association of Fire Fighters since 1995. If you're looking for a HazMat Training Specialist with both knowledge and experience, Ben Price is the one.
